Many hotels and event centers that have pianos will charge you a fee, in addition to what you are paying to rent a space from them for your event. If you are paying to use their piano, you have the right to tell them to have the piano tuned the day of your event. The reason for doing this is because pianos are very sensitive to movement and temperature changes and go out of tune very quickly. The pianos at most hotels and event centers are moved quite often and subjected to many temperature changes. Don’t let these places tell you that the piano is fine and was “just tuned a little while ago”. After spending time and money on your event, it is a pity to have your event spoiled by an out of tune piano.
